Hi friends! It has been a couple weeks since I have blogged, so I will start by saying I hope everyone had a lovely Easter! Easter is probably my favorite holiday because firstly Spring is my favorite time of the year, but also because I love all it stands for and the community it brings to Christ worldwide. Did you know more people were celebrating the resurrection of Jesus this year than ever more? That right there deserves an Amen. I hope you all had a great time with your family, friends, and congregation!
In other news, Happy Earth Day! God made this place beautiful and I believe that it is worth celebrating everyday! Today, I wanted to share what I have been learning lately about enjoying your time in the presence of the Lord. This is something that I am still learning how to do so lets keep each other accountable for this one!
Have you ever heard the phrase “Stop and smell the Roses”? This typically means to be aware and attentive to the present moment and to be able to experience and enjoy more of the world surrounding you. I feel like this is VERY important in your spiritual walk. You should live life with the reminder of what God has done for you and the people he has put around you! It is so easy to live life day by day and just go through the motions of school, work, chores, and whatever else is on your to-do list. However, as Christians, we are called to live in thankfulness as we think about the good things God is doing in our lives, rather than our troubles. Don’t get in a rut and just do your daily routine and not make time for the Godly people around you. This is an important part to growing as a Christian! The more time that you take out of your day to grow your relationship with the Lord and others, the more prosperous you will be to people around you.
A great example of someone in the Bible that did not let worldly troubles affect their walk with the Lord is Paul. He gave thanks and remained positive, even when he was being persecuted for his beliefs. Paul said “Rejoice in the Lord always” in Philippians 4:4, and he really, really meant this. It should not matter what you are going through or how busy you think you are. Remember to slow down, give thanks, and walk in everything the Lord has for you! I challenge you to remember to stop and smell the roses, not just this week, but every week and to encourage your friends to do the same! Thank you for following along with me as I think out loud about the Christian Walk! Feel free to contact me; I would love to be your friend!
